How it all got started
Henning and Bjørn have been friends for more than three decades and have played together in various bands. When the pandemic finally loosened its tight grip and the restrictions on citizens were lifted, Henning heard a few of the songs Bjørn wrote during the dark isolation and suggested forming a band to bring life to these songs.
The results are in your hand as evidence that dreams do come true. This first vinyl long-play album is produced by a great team that supports the band with moral support, working skills, creativity, and vision.
What’s it all about
The creative songwriting process is not new to Bjørn. Inspired by iconic songwriters like Otis Redding, Bill Withers, and Bob Dylan, he has honed his messaging and essentialism for this era of heartfelt songs. “To me, it is most important to tell a story I can relate to and make it something the listener can relate to as well. And without exposing anyone, it should still be based on true stories from a real life for better and for worse. Over the years, I’ve learned that even if people don’t immediately grasp the essence of a song’s lyrics, they will absorb them and make them their own over time, if they can connect with the story. A catchy song with a good punch line and a sing-along refrain is key.” – Bjørn
Organic rock
The ambition has been to keep the creation of the songs as close to the initial idea as possible. Using Hammond organ, Wurlitzer, vintage guitar amps, and live drums as the band aims for authenticity. The edges and imperfections pay respect to the composer, the musicians, and the instruments. You will hear sizzling, scratching, pro- and regression, and a little out-of-tune magic in every tune and every beat. This approach remains constant, inviting you into the universe and hopefully connecting you, not only to the songs but also to the statements and viewpoints they are built upon.

BJöRN is built on a DIY ethos from start to finish. From writing lyrics to composing and arranging, from creating a united sound to performing in the recording studio or on stage, good people share their passion for music and strive to make life meaningful. To fulfill their mission, the band adheres to individual and shared beliefs. All songs, arrangements, performances, recordings, mixing, mastering, and artwork are done independently, free from any commercial constraints that might compromise the initial ambitions.
